Daniel Hospitality team has recently completed interiors for the newly
opened Dorona Steakhouse in
Naples, Florida. The upscale restaurant is owned by Chef
Fabrizo and Ingrid Aielli, the prominent husband/wife team behind two
other celebrated Naples restaurants.
“We
wanted a more modern, vibrant design from traditional Italian steakhouses,”
said Chef Fabrizo, “so we reached out to the design team at Clive Daniel
Hospitality to implement our concept. They helped create a totally new
ambiance in a casual atmosphere with unique custom elements. We are extremely
pleased with the results.”
Located
at 2110 9th Street North, the Dorona sits on the site of the former Midtown
Kitchen + Bar, which closed after operating only 13 months. A TGI Fridays
had been on the site for over 20 years.

The
Dorona is the third Naples restaurant for the owners of Sea Salt and Barbatella
on Third Street South; they also operate a second Sea Salt in St. Petersburg.
The Dorona serves exceptional meat with an Italian flair with a variety
of dishes appealing to all diners.
Working
closely with the Dorona team, design professional Adnilem
Barrera, of Clive Daniel Hospitality was part of the team for this
great project. “This restaurant has a unique modern/industrial design,
showcasing natural material like wood with industrial elements like steel
and aluminum structures. Our intention was to soften the surroundings and
add an eclectic elegance by incorporating unique pieces including Venetian
chandeliers the Chef had made in Italy.”
The
custom banquettes have a soft touch and neutral color to blend without
competing with other colors. The Clive Daniel Hospitality team also designed
a custom upholstered panel using an existing steel frame to divide the
bar space from the dining area near the windows, resulting in sound control
and absorption. The Dorona features a mixture of elements with lighting
and attractive niches with a variety of cozy dining booths surrounding
an extra-long community table with high tops, outdoor tables and seats
at the full bar.
Fabrizio
Aielli was inspired to open his first Sea Salt after participating as a
celebrity chef in a private home for the Naples Winter Wine Festival in
2005. Before relocating to Naples in 2007, the Aiellis owned and operated
the acclaimed Teatro Goldoni, Osteria Goldoni, and Goldoni Ristoranti restaurants
in Washington, D.C., for many years.
