Daniel Home award winning Interior Designers Jean
Losier and Lisa Mettetal, both allied ASID, were selected to create
interiors for the VIP Cottage in Linville, North Carolina, developed by
The
Lutgert Companies. This is the ninth project the designers have created
for the developer.
According
to Losier, “The VIP cottage is a home on the golf course that was built
in the late 80s and is currently enjoying a total face lift. This home
will be rented by VIP customers who are potential homebuyers in Linville
Ridge. The new interiors will be relaxed and comfortable with warm finishes
evoking a natural organic feeling, creating a welcoming feel to the spaces.”

After
completion – expected in June – the Cottage interiors will feature new
wood flooring throughout of large planks in a rich Taupe finish with an
aged glaze. The home’s new front elevation features large windows with
views of the surrounding areas. The relocated fireplace in the great room
has updated ledge stone with a custom geometric wood detail. Similar detail
is reflected in the open kitchen hood. The trim throughout is a light soft
gray and the ceilings have been lifted with floating rustic beams in the
living and dining space providing an open, lofty feeling.
The
master suite also features an updated look. The walk-in closet has been
switched with the master bath adding space for large windows which bring
natural light into the bathroom. Linen-like tiles of soft grays and soft
whites plus a large freestanding tub create an inviting feel for the bathroom.
Fabrics and furnishings create a sophisticated, yet relaxed feeling with
finishes in natural and gray tones, along with touches of old iron in some
of the lighting and accents. Textured fabrics of washed tones add to the
“previously loved” look. An extended deck has been added in the back, plus
an outdoor cooking area and a large fireplace to sit and enjoy the mountain
views. The home is located within walking distance of the grand
club house.
According
to Losier, “We were requested to bring an updated look to the VIP Cottage
with a rustic design that would reflect the surrounding mountain environment.
The 3-bedroom residence features grand windows that provide a bird’s-eye
view of the valley below.
Linville
