Farmington, NY – August 2015 / Newsmaker Alert / Trainer Ralph D’Alessandro notched the 1000th victory of his career at Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack (FLGR) on Tuesday, August 4. He reached the milestone when Promise Me Forever won the eighth race by a margin of three and one-quarter lengths under Jaime Rodriguez.

Born in Italy, D’Alessandro arrived in the U.S. at age 11 in 1965. He got his start in the racing industry as an owner with trainers Bill Bartlett, Sharon Wasiluk and L. Craig Cox.

D’Alessandro began training in 1986 and earned his first lifetime win when Robert Cook directed Marbleized to victory at FLGR.

The 60-year-old conditioner has a total of six stakes victories, including three with So Sweet a Cat. He won the richest race of his career with the $439,048 earner in 2004. He saddled the classy New York-bred when she scored a convincing eight length triumph in the $250,000 Statue of Liberty Stakes at Saratoga in 2004.

A former FLGR Horse of the Year is also from the barn of D’Alessandro. Frisky Warrior won five of his eight FLGR starts in 2013 to receive the honor. The chestnut gelding also took the $50,000 George Barker Stakes on June 15, 2015 to give D’Alessandro his most recent stakes victory.

Ralph D’Alessandro registered 936 of his 1,000 career win at F.L.G.R. Horses under his care have amassed a total of over $11 million in purse earnings during the span of his training career.
