Chips Off the Old Block Takes Home Top Prize
|
Farmington, NY – December 2014 / Newsmaker Alert / Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack (FLGR) employees Kimberly Allen and Ken Miles, won parent company, Delaware North’s, first ever Innovation Challenge. The competition challenged the company’s global workforce to collaborate with colleagues from a different operating company and bring forth an innovative concept. The concepts, which were required to impact the entire company, required a thorough business plan and were vetted through the company’s senior leadership team.

Allen, a Graphic Designer at FLGR and Miles, Commissary Manager at FLGR, collaborated with Jennifer Rodgers from TD Garden in Boston, MA, to present “Chips off the Old Block”, a freshly made potato chip concept in various flavors. The concept was designed to reshape the Delaware North “Grab and Go” line of products. The house made potato chips are unique in that they are not only fresh made daily, but can also be customized with different flavors across multiple Delaware North properties such as ball parks, stadiums and other gaming venues.

“We are honored to have received this award and are anxious to see “Chips off the Old Block” implemented across multiple venues for all our guests to enjoy”, stated Miles.

In addition to “Chips off the Old Block”, other winning concepts included “Brew-Fusion”, a beer flight offering and “High Adventure”, a tree house concept for Delaware North’s parks and recreation business. Each winning team was presented with a check for $25,000.
