Kennedy
Space Center Visitor Complex is on the Hunt for Heroes
|
Public can
submit videos through August 29, 2016 for possible inclusion in the new
attraction

Cape
Canaveral, FL – July 2016 / Newsmaker Alert / The way heroes are defined
in the 21st Century is a focus of the new Heroes & Legends featuring
the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame® attraction, scheduled to open at Kennedy
Space Center Visitor Complex on November 11, 2016. In a never-done-before
initiative designed to more fully engage the visitor in their experience,
the public is being asked to submit a video
about a hero that has inspired them. Select video submissions will be featured
alongside NASA’s most famous astronauts and celebrity ambassadors.
“Ask
15 different people the definition of a hero, and you’ll likely get 15
different answers,” said Therrin Protze, Chief Operating Officer of Kennedy
Space Center Visitor Complex. “And that’s exactly the point. What we want
people to realize is that while we all have hero potential, all heroes
share one common trait – they have all somehow made the world a better
place through their actions. And that means they could be an astronaut,
or a teacher, or a parent.”

Designed
to provide the historical background and context for space exploration
and the legendary men and women who pioneered our journey into space, Heroes
& Legends will use engaging storytelling, cutting edge technology and
interactive elements to introduce visitors to not just the heroes of the
NASA space program, but the hero potential in themselves.
Entering
is easy. Video submissions need to answer three questions: Who is your
hero, how did they inspire you, and what makes a hero? Once complete, videos
can be posted on one of three social media platforms, including Twitter,
Instagram or Facebook, using the hashtag #KSCHero. Or simply upload the
video to bit.ly/1ObQR41.
Guidelines
and more details can be found at bit.ly/1ObQR41.
Deadline for entry is August 29, 2016.
