celebration of the National Park Service 100th birthday, a collection of
regional and national artwork will be featured at Skyland
and Big
Meadows Lodge in Shenandoah
National Park from August 4th to October 31st. The exhibit series will
include artwork by photographers, painters, sculptors, and print makers
who have been inspired by park sites all over the nation, including Acadia
National Park in Maine, Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona, and Dry
Tortugas National Park in Florida. The framed artwork will be displayed
in the lobbies, restaurants, taprooms and other public areas at Skyland
and Big Meadows.
An opening reception will take place on Friday, August 12 in the Great Room at Big Meadows Lodge from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The lodge is located one mile off Skyline Drive at mile 51. The event is free to park visitors. Partners for this exhibition series include Shenandoah National Park Trust and the Middle Street Gallery in Sperryville, Virginia.
