of Acquisitions and Development for travel industry leader Global
Connections, Inc. (GCI), has been awarded the Cooperative
Association of Resort Exchangers (C.A.R.E.) Pinnacle Award. Each year
C.A.R.E. awards this honor to an individual who has made a significant
impact on the vacation industry, is committed to community service, has
extensive experience in the vacation industry and exhibits the highest
ethical standards within the vacation industry. This is the sixth year
the award has been presented.
Nominations
for the Pinnacle award are submitted by the C.A.R.E. membership and each
nominee must meet a demanding list of criteria to be eligible for this
prestigious award. Some of these qualifications, among others, include
being active in the vacation industry for at least 15 years; being employed
by a C.A.R.E. member company in good standing; making a positive impact
on the direction and standards of the vacation industry and exhibiting
commitment to the community through philanthropic activities.

Dave’s
role at Global Connections is focused on overseeing operations and developing
new resorts to accommodate its expanding group of enthusiastic Travel Club
Members. Travel club fulfillment and service provider, Global Connections
Inc. based in Overland Park, KS opened its doors in 1996. It offers its
members a wide variety of benefits and vacation options for more than 700
North American resorts. GCI is also the developer and owner of resorts
in California, Florida, Tennessee, and Colorado, as well as owning and
leasing multiple resort condominium units throughout the U.S., Canada,
Mexico and Caribbean.
Dave,
a member of the Board of C.A.R.E. since 2009, helped establish the C.A.R.E.
Gives Back Volunteer program. The program gives members the chance to give
back to resort communities through volunteer efforts such as beach clean-ups,
meal service at local shelters and maintenance at youth and elderly daycare
facilities. As Co-chairman of the Marketing and Revenue Committees Dave
assisted with the development of the popular Silent/Live Auctions and Super
Raffle, C.A.R.E.’s primary fundraisers. He is active in ARDA as well as
various local organizations focused on providing environmental and humanitarian
efforts within the community.
According

receiving the award Dave encouraged new CARE members and first-time conference
attendees to become active in the vacation industry, in their association,
and in their communities. Dave Dawson says, “It is a great honor to have

would not have been possible.”
