Syracuse,
NY – May 2014 / Newsmaker Alert / There will be something great
for nearly every musical taste when Kid Rock performs at the Great
New York State Fair Grandstand on Monday, August 25 at 7:30 p.m., Acting
State Fair Director Troy Waffner announced Friday (May 23). Ticket prices
are $67, $57, and $47. Tickets go on sale at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, May 31
at the State Fair Box Office and via the Fair’s only official online ticket-seller,
etix.com.
Kid Rock is a genre-hopping
artist who moved from rap and hip hop to become a pioneer of fusing rap
and rock. He’s also folded folk, blues, and country into his music over
the years. Kid Rock exploded onto the music scene in 1998 with his album
Devil Without a Cause, which placed five singles on the mainstream rock
charts, including his first big hit, “Only God Knows Why”. His next big
hit, the duet “Picture” with Sheryl Crow or Allison Moorer, put him on
the pop, rock, and country charts all at once. Later duets with Crow, Keith
Urban, Bob Seger, and Martina McBride kept him in the public eye while
2008’s “All Summer Long,” which sampled Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Sweet Home Alabama”
and Warren Zevon’s “Werewolves of London”, created the biggest smash of
his career, going #1 on charts all over the world.
Kid Rock has been active
in raising money for and awareness of Operation Homefront, a non-profit
organization that provides emergency help for members of the armed services,
their families, and wounded servicemen and women.
“Kid Rock will put on a dynamic
show and I know his fans will go home satisfied. We’re excited to have
an artist of his magnitude on our stage. He’s an important part of a very
strong lineup of shows for the Grandstand this year and I urge everyone
to consider taking in one of our many musical events,” said Waffner.
