Back To News/PR Index | | All Aboard Atlanta’s Newest Peachtree! | Experience the must-sees of Atlanta in an all-new way | The Georgia Aquarium. The High Museum. CNN. The Georgia State Capitol. Turner Field. Oakland Cemetery. Sweet Auburn District. The Fabulous Fox. These are just a few of the sites we talk about as we travel on the Peachtree Trolley in downtown, mid-town and back again. Climb
aboard and hear about the burning of Atlanta and learn how – like the mythical
Phoenix – the City rose from the ashes and rose to new heights. Hear how
and why native Atlantan Margaret Mitchell came to write “Gone With the
Wind.”
The tour will also take you to Oakland Cemetery, the oldest green space in Atlanta, where Atlantans have been buried since 1850. Their stories tell the history of Atlanta. Take a ride through some of Atlanta’s oldest neighborhoods and down Auburn Avenue which depicts the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. from cradle to grave. It would be impossible to tell the story of Atlanta without telling the story of Coca Cola. Hear how this soft drink came to be, what made it so popular, and why it is now recognized and consumed around the world. Listen to the stories of Georgia Tech, Emory University, Georgia State and Atlanta University. Tourists, native Atlantans and transplants will be entertained and informed as they are driven around the city in our climate-controlled enclosed trolleys. The tours are given Tuesday-Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. and on Sunday at 1 and 3 p.m. Tickets are available online or onboard but call ahead (770-425-1006) to confirm availability. The tour departs from the Hilton Garden Inn on Baker Street, a block from Centennial Olympic Park. Group tours and private transportation charters are also available.
