Los
Angeles, CA – February 2017 / Newsmaker Alert / SportsTravel
magazine, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2017, has announced
a partnership with the National Association of Sports Commissions. As part
of the new agreement, SportsTravel will produce two special sections
in upcoming issues of the magazine marking NASC’s 25th anniversary and
looking ahead to the association’s future.
The first section, “The Legacy of NASC,” will run in the March issue of SportsTravel and will coincide with the NASC’s 25th annual Sports Event Symposium in Sacramento, California, March 27–30. The section will feature a story on the organization’s history and include an exclusive interview with Don Schumacher, who will retire in March after serving as the NASC’s only executive director. Also included in the section is a timeline of important events in NASC’s history and stories on its CSEE certification program and the Sports Legacy Fund, which helps raise money for sports organizations in the symposium’s host city. The section will also feature a directory of NASC’s members. The second section, “NASC: 25 Years and Beyond,” will be published in the May/June issue and will feature an exclusive interview with the new president and chief executive officer of the organization, Alan Kidd. The section will also include coverage of the inaugural class of the NASC Hall of Fame, which will be unveiled at the symposium, and information about award winners and the newly named members of the NASC Board of Directors. “In this milestone anniversary year of SportsTravel, we are proud to mark the 25th anniversary of the NASC with these special sections,” said Timothy Schneider, publisher of SportsTravel. “We have been a proud sponsor of NASC since before the magazine was launched and look forward to many more years of collaboration with the NASC to help grow the sports-event industry.” Tweet: SportsTravel partners with the National Association of Sports Commissions @SportsTravel @NASC_News bit.ly/2koMlVv Follow SportsTravel: Twitter, Facebook and Instagram About
