Los
Angeles, CA – August 2016 / Newsmaker Alert / SMG,
the worldwide leader of public assembly facility management, has renewed
its sponsorship of the TEAMS
Conference & Expo—the world’s largest gathering of sports-event
organizers. The new 10-year agreement, which will run through TEAMS ’25,
is one of SMG’s largest corporate sponsorships in the meetings industry
and will provide an ongoing, fully integrated media presence for SMG-managed
venues through SportsTravel magazine and the annual TEAMS Conference
& Expo.
“SMG
has sponsored the TEAMS Conference on a continuous basis since 2004,” said
Gregg
Caren, executive vice-president of SMG’s Convention Center Division.
“This extension of our support of TEAMS is emblematic of our ongoing, long-term
commitment to working with the sports-event industry, a segment we serve
more than any other venue network in the world.”
“Given
SMG’s leadership position in the management and marketing of convention
centers, arenas and stadiums, we are delighted that they’ve renewed their
partnership with our company’s brands,” said Timothy Schneider, president
and CEO of Schneider Publishing Company, which publishes SportsTravel
magazine and organizes the TEAMS Conference & Expo. “We are committed
to providing the most dynamic channels for sports-related business development
available anywhere and are pleased to be of service to an undisputed industry
leader such as SMG,” said Schneider.
“SMG
always exceeds our expectations every time we stage the TEAMS Conference
& Expo at a facility managed by SMG,” said Schneider. Cobo Convention
Center in Detroit, David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh and
Calvin L. Rampton Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City are among
the SMG-managed venues that have hosted TEAMS in the past.
SMG-managed
venues that will be represented at TEAMS ’16, September 26–29, in Atlantic
City, include the Albany (NY) Capital Center, DeVos Place Convention Center
