Trek Travel Announces New Trips & New Fleet of Trek Bikes for 2017

New six-day, five-night trips include Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, New Mexico and Ojai to Santa Barbara. New European trips include a six-day, five-night mountain bike trip to Norway and two separate river cruising itineraries that explore the Danube and Rhine Rivers.

Yellowstone-Tetons, 6-days, 5-nights

Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park are perhaps the most famous of North America’s National Parks. Residing just ten miles from one another, they are known for dramatic peaks, Old Faithful geyser and an abundance of moose, buffalo and elk.

Beginning and ending in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, this adventure features a naturalist led hike to Old Faithful geyser; cycling through the National Elk refuge with the Grand Tetons in the background; whitewater rafting on the Snake River and visiting Teton Village, home to the world famous ski resort, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

Priced from $3299 per person this trip is offered June 25-30, July 2-7, July 9-14, July 16-21, July 23-28, July 30-Aug. 4, August 6-11, Aug. 13-18.

New Mexico, 6-days, 5-nights

Beginning and ending in Santa Fe, cyclists will trace some of the country’s oldest roads from the Santa FeTrail to Canyon Road with a dramatic ride to Taos featuring views of New Mexico’s Truchas Peaks and Wheeler Peak along with a ride over Taos Gorge Bridge, rising 800 feet above the Rio Grande River. Other highlights include hiking through the Plaza Blanca; soaking in the ancient healing waters at the Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs and visiting Taos Pueblo.

Priced from $2599 per person this trip is offered May 21-26, May 28-June 2, June 4-9 and June 11-16.

Norway Mountain Bike, 6-days, 5-nights

Norway’s Telemark region is known for its abundance of lakes, forests and unique granite dome dotted landscape. Mountain bikers will relish more than 100 kilometers of remote singletrack while staying at the luxurious Canvas Hotel with its Mongolian yurt-style tents.

The trip begins and ends in Sandefjord. For the next five days riders climb granite slabs, dart through heavy timber, over roots and across creeks along with visiting the coastal town of Arendel. Priced at $3499 per person this trip is offered July 2-7, July 9-14, July 16-21, July 23-28 and July 30-August 4.

Ojai and Santa Barbara, 6-days, 5-nights

From Ojai’s “pink moment” when the sun showers the mountains in early evening light, to Santa Barbara’s magical coastline, known as the American Riviera, to the wine region of the Santa Ynez Valley, this springtime trip is for those who love the finer things in life.

Beginning in Ojai, California and ending in Santa Barbara, the trip features a stay at the award-winning Ojai Valley Inn and Spa; olive oil tasting at the Ojai Olive Oil Company; bicycling along the ocean to Santa Barbara; exploring the Foxen Canyon wine trail and touring Montecito’s Lotusland.

Danube River Cruise, 8-days, 7-nights

Experience the epicurean and cultural delights of the Rhine River on this seven-night adventure beginning in Basel, Switzerland and ending in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Visiting four countries, this trip stops at Strasbourg, France, Koblenz and Cologne, Germany and Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Highlights include cycling the Alsace wine route tasting Rieslings and Pinot Gris, pedaling castle and vineyard dotted landscape of the Rhine Gorge, discovering the bike trails of Cologne and tasting cheese through Amsterdam’s countryside.
