| Troon Selected to Manage Sagebrush Golf Club | Marks Troon’s Expansion into Canada | |  Set
on 400 acres overlooking Nicola Lake, Sagebrush Golf Club opened in 2009
to rave reviews. The links-style course earned highly coveted accolades
including “Best New Course in Canada” by both Golf Digest and SCOREGolf.
It was later named No. 3 “Best Modern Course in Canada” (built since 1960)
by Golfweek in 2012 and in 2014, Golf Digest named it No.
85 in the “Top 100 Best Courses Outside the U.S.”
“We are thrilled to be involved with Sagebrush Golf Club and to expand Troon’s presence into Canada,” stated Jim McLaughlin, senior vice president, Troon operations. “This unique property combined with a golf course that is already regarded as one of the best in Canada, provides a tremendous amount of potential. In addition to upcoming enhancements, we are confident that our management practices will contribute positively to the overall experience at Sagebrush.” Newmark Group purchased Sagebrush on November 1st, 2015 and very quickly demonstrated their commitment to maximizing Sagebrush’s potential. They recently named James Cronk, a highly regarded Canadian golf industry executive, as President of Newmark Golf Group. They have also engaged the award-winning Vancouver design firm SSDG Interiors to renovate the Badlands Clubhouse, which is now underway. “Newmark Group, under the leadership of owner Mark Chandler, believes that Sagebrush is a very special place with tremendous potential, and we are excited about working with Troon to see our vision become a reality,” states James Cronk. “Their expertise in golf course management, development and marketing will be extremely valuable and we know that our guests will benefit from experiencing a Troon managed property.” Sagebrush will re-open the golf course in the spring of 2016.
