Troon Selected to Manage
The Saticoy Club in Somis, California
|
Scottsdale, AZ – May 2018 / Newsmaker Alert / Troon®, the leader in golf course management, development, and marketing, has been selected to manage The Saticoy Club, formerly Saticoy Country Club, in Somis, California, a small town located just north of Los Angeles in Ventura County. Troon Privé, the private club operating division of Troon, will oversee the course and club operations at The Saticoy Club.

Founded in 1921, The Saticoy Club was the first private club in Ventura County. Nestled in the hills of Somis, the 18-hole course was designed by noted architect William F. Bell and is regarded as one of top golf courses in California by Links Magazine. Over its storied history, the club has hosted USGA Championship Qualifiers as well as Southern California Golf Association Amateur Championships. Over the years, the course has been refined by notable golf course architects Robert Muir Graves, Tom Doak and John Harbottle, who is responsible for creating the classic capes and bay-style bunkers that exist today.

The Saticoy Club was recently purchased by Saticoy Partners. The new ownership group has committed to a number of course enhancements, including new bunkers, tee complexes and improved sight lines. In addition to on-course changes, plans also call for improvements to be made to dining spaces, locker rooms, the pool area and fitness facilities.
