Verona, NY – June 2016 / Newsmaker Alert / Turning Stone Resort Casino, Central New York’s premier destination, has earned the Association for Talent Development’s (ATD) CNY BEST Learning and Performance Award for its continued commitment to providing superior guest service.

CNY ATD annually presents the CNY BEST Learning and Performance Awards to recognize excellence in learning and performance in Central New York. Organizations that connect learning to the strategic growth or success of the organization and individuals are recognized as CNY’s BEST in Learning and Performance.

Turning Stone earned the CNY BEST award for its “One Team One Hotel” approach to guest service, which was an extensive training program teaching employees how to consistently provide a Forbes Four Star-level of service. The result of the “One Team One Hotel” training and the employees’ dedication to offering the best guest service received the attention of Forbes Travel Guide, the global authority on luxury travel. Earlier this year, The Lodge at Turning Stone, the resort’s beautiful Adirondack-style all-suite hotel, was named a new Forbes Four-Star Award hotel, the only property in the greater Central New York area to achieve both the AAA Four Diamond and Forbes Four Star status. To determine the Four Star Award winners, Forbes Travel Guide has a team of expert inspectors who anonymously evaluate properties around the world and measure against more than 800 rigorous and objective standards, providing guests the insight to make better informed travel and leisure decisions.

One CNY BEST award judge stated, “For Forbes Travel Guide and for The Lodge, it is crystal clear that the customer comes first. Investing in staff development is the best way to achieve this!”

A panel of local and national judges representing the profession and community evaluated CNY BEST Learning and Performance Award nominations for quality of learning and performance practices, practice results and impacts, and demonstrations of how the practices linked to the strategic growth or success of the organization and individuals.

CNY ATD is in its ninth year of recognizing excellence in learning and performance in the CNY area with the CNY BEST Learning and Performance Program. CNY ATD has been nationally recognized for this innovative CNY BEST Learning and Performance Program which “creates awareness in the community about learning and development and its importance to organizational success, while creating involvement by organizations in the community through recognition of excellence in learning and performance practices.”
