Syracuse,
NY – November 2018 / Newsmaker Alert / It’s the best of the
Great New York State Fair, but indoors
and in mid-winter; the new Winter
Fair 2019 will fill the Exposition Center at the Fairgrounds with the
food, rides, music and entertainment that fairgoers know and love. This
mini version of the Fair takes place Friday, Feb. 8 through Sunday, Feb.
10. Advance tickets go on sale Monday, Nov. 19. Admission is $4 for adults
and $2 for teens and seniors. Children 12 and under will be admitted free
of charge.
“The State Fair is the best
and biggest party of the summer in Upstate New York. Our goal is to create
the best party of the winter by borrowing some of the elements that make
the Fair so great. We know this will be a good time and a great way to
push aside the mid-winter blues,” said Steve Becker of Premier Promotions,
the promoter of Winter Fair.
“We’re sure that families
will be looking for something fun to do together in February and are very
excited to see this new event grow and prosper. It’s another example of
how the new Expo Center is changing the game for major events in Upstate
New York,” said Troy Waffner, Fair Director.
Winter Fair will feature
vendors offering a wide variety of fun foods and Fair favorites, like sausage
sandwiches and pizze frittes. The Mini-Midway will feature rides, such
as a merry-go-round, giant slide, tilt-a-whirl, a fun house and amusement
games. A stage will feature music from a number of bands, including the
Todd Hobin Band, the Blacklites, the Chris Taylor Custom Band, and more.
The promoter is working with organizers of the Van Robinson Pan-African
Village at the Fair to also bring some elements of that area to Winter
Fair.

Fair’s website. Companies interested in vending or sponsorship can

Accelerating CNY Rising
Today’s announcement complements
“Central NY Rising,”
the region’s comprehensive blueprint to generate robust economic growth
and community development. The State has already invested more than $5.6
billion in the region since 2012 to lay the groundwork for the plan – capitalizing
on global market opportunities, strengthening entrepreneurship and creating
an inclusive economy. Today, unemployment is down to the lowest levels
since before the Great Recession; personal and corporate income taxes are
down; and businesses are choosing places like Syracuse, Oswego and Auburn
as a destination to grow and invest in.
Now, the region is accelerating
Central NY Rising with a $500 million State investment through the Upstate
Revitalization Initiative, announced by Governor Cuomo in December 2015.
The State’s $500 million investment will incentivize private business to
invest well over $2.5 billion – and the region’s plan, as submitted, projects
up to 5,900 new jobs. More information is available
here.
Premier Promotions also produces
the Small Business Show – SOHO Syracuse and Jazz in the City. Since 1997,
Premier Promotions has been assisting in event management for events including
the Northeast Jazz & Wine Festival, Cicero Community Festival, the
New York State Blues Festival, the Syracuse International Film Festival,
Parade of Homes, the American Red Cross and the Taste of Syracuse.
The New York State Fairgrounds
is a 375-acre exhibit and entertainment complex that operates all year.
A year-round schedule of
events is available on the Fairgrounds website.
