| Bonita Springs, FL – July 2024 / NewsmakerAlert: Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux, a Louisiana inspired restaurant, will soon bring its famous scratch-made culinary delights, vibrant entertainment, and warm hospitality to Cape Coral. The groundbreaking event on June 20 celebrated the anticipated opening of Walk-On’s first Southwest Florida location at 1127 SW Pine Island Road in Cape Coral. City dignitaries on hand for the event included: Cape Coral District 6 Councilmember Keith Long, Donna Germain, President of the Chamber of Commerce, and Andreana Petersen, Office of Economic Development, plus Curran Young Construction project managers.

The 8,900-square-foot restaurant, built by Curran Young Construction (CYC), will feature indoor/outdoor seating, with completion planned for Spring 2025. Steve Myli and Dylan Poirier of CYC will serve as Senior Project Manager and Assistant Project Manager for the project. Rob Wyman, Jessie Hagen, and Sergio Nascimento of Incredible Bank of Cape Coral are providing construction financing.

Walk-On’s was founded in 2003 by Brandon Landry and Jack Warner, Louisiana State University walk-on basketball players. During their playing time, they discovered shared interests and decided to push their dreams beyond the basketball court, later receiving financial backing from veteran NFL quarterback Drew Brees. There are currently 78 Walk-On’s in 15 states, with six in Florida.

Walk-On’s Southwest Florida Franchisee, Len Lemmer, is looking forward to bringing the new restaurant concept to the area. Len Lemmer’s family, including daughter Erin as Administrative Manager, son Tyler as Director of Operations, son-in-law Steven Hall as General Manager, and daughter Kiera as Front of House Manager, are integral to the company’s success. “We’re confident it will become a go-to spot for residents and visitors alike, with more locations on the horizon,” shared Tyler Lemmer.
