Host February 15 Vintners Dinner
|
Geneva-on-the-Lake, OH – January 2019 / Newsmaker Alert / Enjoy a cozy getaway on the shores of Lake Erie with a Vintners Dinner guided by Lauren Fiala, a Certified Wine Specialist, on Friday, February 15 at The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake. This French-inspired Vintners Dinner will feature a variety of wines from the storied European region of France. A Champagne seminar before dinner will be led by Fiala. The wine pairing experience begins at 7:00 p.m. with the wine tasting reception and presentation, followed by a multi-course dinner with wine pairing.

The menu will feature:

  • First Course – Almond crusted brie cheese with Veuve Doussot, Blanquette de Limoux 
    • Lingonberry compote/dried fruit/Raincoast crisp cracker
  • Second Course – Bouillabaisse with Chateau le Grand Verdus Bordeaux Blanc
    • Sole/Mussels/Shrimp/Calamari/fennel/tomato/chili flake
    • French bread/lemon aioli
  • Third Course – Heirloom greens and Vidalia onion Vinaigrette with Morgon Beaujolais Cru
    • Poached pear/dried cherries/crisp duck bacon/goat cheese crouton
  • Fourth Course – Smoked Sea Salt Crusted Flat iron with Chateau de Cheylus Cotes du Rhone (100% Syrah)
    • Boursin cream corn/Olive oil poached tomato/wild arugula
    • Roasted shallot/Red wine foam
  • Fifth Course – Crepe with French 75 cocktail
    • Sweet cream/berries/ruby red peach
The Vintners Dinner getaway package for two includes the wine tasting reception with the presenter, dinner with wine pairings, an overnight stay and breakfast for two the next morning, beginning at $299* plus tax. The price of the event only without an overnight stay is $149 plus tax, per couple.
