Geneva-on-the-Lake, OH
– October 2018 / Newsmaker Alert / With
four consecutive record-breaking months, three of which exceeded $1 million
in hotel revenue, The Lodge
at Geneva-on-the-Lake is celebrating its most successful year ever.
Having realized average annual revenue growth of 11 percent each year for
the past three years, the addition of new attractions, features and amenities
has helped The Lodge become one of the top travel destinations in the region.
“The launch of the first
full season of Lake
Erie Canopy Tours in 2018, along with the addition of 25 cottages and
a variety of other renovations throughout the past several years has enhanced
the attraction of The Lodge as a premier weekday and weekend destination
on the shores of Lake Erie. While the summer months have always been strong,
we continue to enjoy robust leisure, corporate meeting and group business
throughout the year,” said Eric
Frantz, General Manager, The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake.
Lodge success helps support
local growth
Since opening in 2004, Lodge
growth has contributed significantly to area economic development.
“The Lodge has helped foster
substantial economic benefits for Ashtabula County and its residents. As
a top regional leisure and business travel destination, The Lodge has contributed
significantly to Ashtabula County by helping create new opportunities for
area business growth and expansion, as well as substantial job creation,”
noted Ashtabula County Commissioner Casey Kozlowski.
New
in 2019
A growing list of Lodge
additions and renovations are in store for 2019, including:
-
The addition of a grand portico
with features that include a new, covered front entryway, ideal for unloading
luggage; waiting area for wine shuttles; three lane width; sufficient height
for busses to pass underneath; as well as an outdoor seating area with
a fire feature. Completion is slated for early 2019. The portico addition
will be funded through the resort fee collected nightly with stays at The
Lodge and cottages. The fee is dedicated exclusively to make property improvements
that benefit guests, such as the Fire Terrace, and the addition of walkways
and landscaping features throughout the property.
-
Renovation of the grand ballroom,
a venue which has hosted thousands of weddings, meetings and other gatherings.
Completion is slated for early spring 2019. Among the renovated ballroom
updates will be a built-in beverage bar and lighting enhancements, along
with a new color palette, complementary to a wide range of color and décor
choices - ideal for brides to put their personal touches on their special
day. Funding for the project will come from a special fund set aside from
annual revenue.
Also coming in 2019:
-
Row boat and paddle boat
rentals at Lake Erie Canopy Tours for leisurely trips along Cowles
Creek
-
New wine shuttle experiential
and VIP offerings, taking visits to Grand River Valley wineries to the
next level
“From spectacular views of Lake
Erie, to Lake Erie Canopy Tours’ adventure attractions and distinctive
wine country experiences, The Lodge has become a regional destination with
appeal to visitors of all ages and interests,” Frantz added. “We continue
to look for new ways to make the most of the natural beauty and prime location
that is uniquely The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake.”
