Garden, one of the country’s premier arenas and home to the NHL’s Boston
Bruins and NBA’s Boston Celtics, have announced a strategic partnership
to become the exclusive multimedia rights holder for Northeastern
University Athletics beginning with the 2019-20 season.
Backed

enterprise and expertise, TD Garden leads the way in leveraging brand power
and building meaningful partnerships in the professional sports, entertainment,
and arena industry.
“We
are incredibly excited to enter into this relationship with Delaware North
and TD Garden,” said Northeastern director of athletics Jeff Konya. “Having
the opportunity to align with a strong regional partner was extremely appealing,
and we believe that combining Northeastern’s recent successes on and off
the playing field with the impressive reach of Delaware North is a truly
unique relationship that will benefit Northeastern fans in the city of
Boston and beyond.”
Under
this partnership, Delaware North and Northeastern Athletics will provide
corporate brands and fans with new and innovative sponsorship and multimedia
opportunities, including but not limited to: game day assets at Northeastern’s
four home venues in Boston, Brookline and Dedham, additional media assets
via television and radio, as well as utilizing the university’s alumni
affinity for Northeastern Athletics.
“The
partnership is unique and incorporates multiple opportunities for both
TD Garden and Northeastern University,” said Glen
Thornborough, chief revenue officer for TD Garden and Boston Bruins.
“Our vision is to create a holistic partnership that includes both traditional
and non-traditional collaboration, including educational opportunities
for students. We look forward to working closely with Northeastern Athletics
to bring new and creative activations to the Howlin’ Huskies and elevate
its brand and fan engagement to the next level.”
The
partnership between TD Garden and Northeastern University will extend through
the 2023-2024 season. Financial terms will not be disclosed. Dan Gale of
Leona Marketing Group consulted and assisted on the formation of this partnership.
