Delaware
North, a leading global hospitality company, is expanding its partnership
with the United Service Organizations
(USO) having recently launched a fundraising campaign at 10 of the company’s
casino gaming destinations across the United States.
In
addition, Delaware North announced that it is continuing its national fundraising
campaign for the USO throughout 2019 at more than 200 airport dining locations
that the company operates at 18 U.S. airports. That campaign has raised
more than $467,000 for the USO since it launched in May 2018.
All proceeds of Delaware North’s campaigns are provided to the USO, a non-profit organization that supports service members and military families via programming, centers and airport locations around the world. “Delaware North has been a tremendous military supporter and USO partner, and we thank their team and their patrons for their generosity,” said Lisa Anastasi, USO chief development and marketing officer. “Expanding their campaign with the addition of gaming locations provides more opportunities for guests to give a little extra, and in return helps to make a big impact in strengthening our service members and military families.” The campaign at Delaware North’s gaming locations will entail a call for donations through two methods. While making purchases at restaurants, other food and beverage outlets and hotels at the 10 gaming locations, guests can “round up” to the nearest dollar amount – with the extra funds going to the USO. Guests can also donate at all points of sale in $1, $3 or $5 increments. “The USO has a very important mission to help our country’s servicemen and servicewomen, so we are proud to expand Delaware North’s involvement,” said Brian Hansberry, president of Delaware North’s gaming division. “We look forward to seeing generous support for the USO from our guests as they dine and stay with us at our gaming locations.” The campaign will continue until the end of the year at the following gaming locations: Daytona Beach Racing & Card Club (Daytona Beach, Fla.); Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack (Farmington, N.Y.); Hamburg Gaming (operated for the Erie County Agricultural Society at the Erie County Fairgrounds in Hamburg, N.Y.); Jake’s 58 Casino Hotel (Islandia, N.Y.); Jumer’s Casino & Hotel (Rock Island, Ill.); Mardi Gras Casino & Resort (Nitro, W.Va.); Miami Valley Gaming (a joint venture with Churchill Downs Inc. in Lebanon, Ohio); Orange City Racing & Card Club (Orange City, Fla.); Southland Casino Racing (West Memphis, Ark.); and Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack (Wheeling, W.Va.). The ongoing fundraising campaign at Delaware North’s airport locations will also run until the end of the year. It also affords guests the opportunity to “round up” at the register and features the sale of commemorative USO cups, with proceeds benefitting the USO. The fundraising efforts are ongoing at Delaware North locations at the following airports: Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas, Boise Airport in Idaho, Boston Logan International Airport, Buffalo Niagara International Airport, Charleston International Airport in South Carolina, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Denver International Airport, Detroit Metropolitan Airport, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Florida, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, Los Angeles International Airport, Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, Nashville International Airport, four New York State Thruway travel plazas; Ontario International Airport in California, Richmond International Airport, Tampa International Airport and Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma. Beyond this fundraising campaign, Delaware North’s travel division supports the USO at its various airport locations with frequent meal drops and annual holiday meals during Thanksgiving and Christmas. Delaware North’s campaigns directly support the USO’s mission to strengthen America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country throughout their service to the nation. In 2018, the USO recorded more than 12 million acts of service, entertained more than 83,000 military men and women through USO entertainment tours and served more than 3.9 million location-based program participants. The USO also provided 8,455 Action Plans for transitioning service members through its USO Pathfinder® program. About
