Love's Travel Stops Hires Spencer Haines as Chief Financial Officer

Haines as chief financial officer, beginning August 12th. Haines comes from McAfee & Taft, where he served for 15 years as a shareholder for the Oklahoma-based law firm and where Love’s was a client. He has a breadth of experience in corporate tax planning; local, state and federal taxation; and tax structuring in a wide variety of industries, including energy and oil & gas.

Haines, selected after a national search, will report to Wharton who previously served as CFO. He will provide oversight and direction for Love’s financial operations, maintain the company’s strong financial profile, and ensure continuous reinvestment into the business.

In 2018, Haines was selected by Best Lawyers as “Oklahoma City Closely Held Companies and Family Businesses Lawyer of the Year.” He has been a certified public accountant since 1999 and worked as a senior accountant with Arthur Anderson for three years before attending law school. Haines received his juris doctorate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Oklahoma State University.
