NACS Names Executive Director of NACS Foundation

Alexandria, VA – July 2024 / NewsmakerAlert: Kevin O’Connell has been named executive director of the NACS Foundation, the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) announced on Tuesday (July 23).

NACS Names Executive Director of NACS FoundationThe NACS Foundation was founded in 1994 and serves as a catalyst for the industry, where it can convene partners, marshal resources, organize efforts and spark initiatives that will increase the impact of the industry’s charitable efforts. The NACS Foundation, in collaboration with industry stakeholders, developed five signature programs that align with NACS members’ philanthropic priorities, which overall focus on serving first responders, fighting hunger, supporting healthy kids and keeping communities clean.

O’Connell most recently served as nonprofit strategic advisor to FYN Creative, the digital storytelling agency he founded in 2014 to produce video content, create campaigns and provide trainings for universities and nonprofits. Prior to that, Kevin founded and served as executive director of The Niche Movement, a global community reaching more than 5,000 people that helps college students and young professionals rethink the traditional career search and find a job they love.

O’Connell also has 15 years of higher education experience, most recently as adjunct professor at George Washington University’s School of Business. Kevin is an active volunteer in community groups including Food & Friends in Washington, D.C. O’Connell earned a B.S. in marketing from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a M.A. in leadership and public administration from Centenary University.
