NY – August 2024 / NewsmakerAlert: With fewer than three weeks
until the start of one of summer’s most beloved traditions, the Great
New York State Fair is saving a parking spot for a “Purple Lamborghini,”
as hip-hop artist Rick Ross will perform at Suburban Park
on September 1 at 8:00 PM.

Rick
Ross is the embodiment of hard work, which has helped to skyrocket his
music career, as well as his career as an entrepreneur and an author. He
has been nominated for a Grammy Award nine times and has won four BET awards
in 2008, 2010, 2012, and 2013. Ross also has dozens of multiplatinum certifications
from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and five number
1 debuts on the Billboard Top 200 chart.
Rick Ross released his debut
album “Port of Miami” in 2006, which landed atop the U.S. Billboard Top
200 Album chart and would go on to reach gold certification from the RIAA.
From then on, he released numerous hit singles and albums such as “Push
It,” “Trilla,” and “Holla at Me.” Ross has also collaborated with some
of the biggest names in music, including DJ Khaled, T-Pain, and Nelly.
With his career in full swing,
Ross continued to release hits such as, “Teflon Don,” “Live Fast, Die Young,”
and “Self Made Vol. 1,” which featured Kayne West, Ne-Yo, Wale, and Meek
Mill. Ross continued his ascension into rap royalty after creating his
record label, Maybach Music Group, in 2008, which signed rappers French
Montana, Omarion, Wale, and Meek Mill at the time. Building on his successful
career in music, Ross ventured into the entrepreneurial world. Maybach
Films was his “debut” into filmography while several additional projects
are currently in production.
Ross is also a celebrated
writer and has authored two books, including “Hurricanes: A Memoir” and
“The Perfect Day to Boss Up.” He has been named a Bestselling Author by
the New York Times twice, adding to his list of many accomplishments
and accolades.

recording artists, delicious food and beverage choices, and the very best
of New York State agriculture all at your fingertips, The Fair is the place
to be. We can’t wait to welcome everyone!”
The Fair starts Wednesday,
August 21, and runs through Labor Day, Monday, September 2.
All concerts and grounds entertainment are included in the price of admission,
making The Great New York State Fair one of the most affordable state fairs
in the country. Admission tickets
are $8 for adults while admission is free for children under 12 and senior
citizens aged 65 and older. Fairgoers can also purchase a Frequent Fairgoer
pass for $25, which provides admission to all 13-days of The Fair’s run.
Parking is $12 per vehicle.
In total, The Fair’s Chevrolet
Music Series will feature 39 national recording acts. There will be
a daily 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. concert at Chevy Court (located near Gate
1), and a daily 8 p.m. concert at Suburban Park (located on the
western end of the Fairgrounds, beyond the Midway).
