Syracuse, NY – April 2025 / NewsmakerAlert: As the weather gets warmer, The Great New York State Fair is heating things up with the addition of the Red Hot Chilli Pipers to the Chevrolet Music Festival. A nine-piece ensemble consisting of bagpipers, guitarists, keyboards, and drummers, the Red Hot Chilli Pipers vaulted to fame in 2007 after winning the primetime television show “When Will I Be Famous” in the United Kingdom. Since then, the group, which has become a global phenomenon for their “bagrock” sound, has sold out shows from New York City, Beijing, Melbourne, and everywhere in between.

The Pipers fuse traditional bagpipe tunes, including “The Flowers of Scotland,” “The Hills of Argyll,” and “Amazing Grace,” with contemporary anthems like Queen’s “We Will Rock You,” Clocks” by Coldplay, “Chasing Cars” by Snow Patrol, “Smoke on the Water” by Deep Purple, “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC, and many more.

The group has released nine albums in all, including “Blast Live,” which was certified platinum three times in 2008 while their fourth album skyrocketed to the No. 2 spot on Amazon’s Top Music Chart behind only Adele’s record-breaking album “21.” The Red Hot Chilli Pipers have been named Best Live Act in Scotland twice and have had their songs streamed millions times.

The Fair starts Wednesday, August 20, and runs through Labor Day, Monday, September 1. All concerts are included in the price of admission, which will go on sale later this summer. The Great New York State Fair is the most affordable state fair in the country. Tickets are $8 for adults while admission is free for children under 12 and senior citizens aged 65 and older.

In total, The Fair’s 2025 Chevrolet Music Series will feature 41 national recording acts. There will be a daily 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. concert at Chevy Court (located near Gate 1), and an 8 p.m. concert each evening at Suburban Park (located on the western end of the Fairgrounds, beyond the Midway). The Fair will also host two special shows at 9 p.m. on Friday, August 22 and 29 at Chevy Court.
