Syracuse,
NY – May 2025 / NewsmakerAlert: Country superstar Nate Smith
is set to light up Suburban Park on Opening Day, Wednesday, August 20
at 8:00 p.m., officially kicking off the start of the 13-day run at
The Great New York State Fair
and the Fair’s music series, which is promising to hold the best and most
diverse lineup yet.
Smith, who was named the
Academy of Country Music’s New Male Artist of the Year, Billboard’s Rookie
of the Year, and Amazon’s Breakthrough Country Artist in 2024, has become
one of music’s most widely searched artists with over 2.2 billion career
streams to date. The California native’s self-titled, gold-certified album,
which debuted in the Top 10 on Billboard’s Country Album chart, has scored
two multi-week No. 1 hits, including “Whiskey On You” and “World On Fire,”
and has resulted in multiple gold and platinum records and sold-out shows
across the United States.

“I can’t wait to get The
Fair started with one of Country music’s brightest stars in Nate Smith,”
said Julie LaFave, Fair Director. “This year’s musical lineup is
shaping up to be one of the best we’ve ever had. With access to world-class
concerts, thrilling grounds entertainment, the very best of New York agriculture,
and so much more all included in the price of admission, there isn’t a
more exciting place to be this summer than The Great New York State Fair!”
Smith, who was described
by The Tennessean as “country music’s fastest-rising beloved voice,” saw
his three-time platinum single “Whiskey On You” surge to the top of the
charts for multiple weeks. His second smash single “World On Fire” reached
No. 1 on the Country radio charts and remained there for an impressive
10 consecutive weeks. “Bulletproof” garnered Smith his third consecutive
multi-week No. 1 and marked him as the first artist in Mediabase/Country
Aircheck history to start their career with three consecutive, multi-week
No. 1s.
Smith has spent time touring
alongside some of Country music’s biggest names, including Thomas Rhett
and Morgan Wallen, and will join Jason Aldean’s tour this spring.
The Fair starts Wednesday,
August 20, and runs through Labor Day, Monday, September 1.
All concerts are included in the price of admission, which will go on sale
later this summer. The Great New York State Fair is the most affordable
state fair in the country. Tickets are $8 for adults while admission is
free for children under 12 and senior citizens aged 65 and older.
In total, The Fair’s 2025
Chevrolet Music Series will feature 41 national recording acts. There will
be a daily 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. concert at Chevy Court (located near Gate
1), and an 8 p.m. concert each evening at Suburban Park (located on the
