Since opening the doors in 1992, ACI has focused on hospitality, restaurant and commercial markets. Located in San Diego, the boutique firm provides Architectural Design, Site and Building Planning and Interior Design services for a variety of project types. The joint venture partnership with James Heilbronner, who became Principal and Director of Hospitality at ACI in June 2019 boosts both entities capacity in numerous areas.

The joint venture project, a nine-story hotel in San Jose, CA. designed by Architectural Dimensions, will be dual branded as Courtyard by Marriott and Residence Inn by Marriott. The project, with 303 rooms and 19 upper floor condominiums is slated to break ground in Q2 2020. The residential units will be located on the top floor of the hotel. Situated on the corner of West Julian Street and Stockton Avenue, the new project is near downtown and San Jose’s Diridon train station and the future Google transit village.

Downtown San Jose is rapidly becoming a fusion of culture, commerce and the arts, exploding with new development in the economically prosperous Silicon Valley. The interior design theme and space concepts spring from San Jose’s growth and energy.

Jim Heilbronner is an industry leader, bringing over 40 years of experience in the successful management and delivery of complex projects and programs throughout California and the US to the Architectural Concepts, Inc team. Fluid in all aspects of the architectural design process and project management, from feasibility analysis through construction and facilities management; he specializes in navigating the entitlement and stakeholder/public engagement process to reach consensus and clear coordination for any project. Mr. Heilbronner has spent the majority of his career designing and managing a wide array of projects in various sectors including hospitality, industrial, civic, entertainment, retail, and historic preservation.
