![]() Back To News/PR Index | ![]() | ![]() | Tim established the company in early 2013, Frank joined the following year, and then Lawrence and John joined shortly after. The company’s name – BLUE – was conceived to represent Beautifying Landscapes Upgrading Environments. While each partner manages separate divisions based on their areas of expertise, landscape maintenance is the foundation of their company’s work. Today, they are widely recognized as Southwest Florida’s most sought-after single landscaping resource, providing comprehensive landscape solutions for high-end residential and condominium owners, associations, architects, builders, property managers, schools, and golf communities. Their elite services are in constant demand for creating high-end construction environments, transformative hardscapes, yard and irrigation maintenance, landscape lighting, decorative fencing, ornamentals, and synthetic turf projects. BLUE excels at landscape restoration after storms, developing systems to prioritize cleanup and repair, then creating new landscape plans to rebuild each property. In late 2023, BLUE affiliated with Mariani Premier Group (MPG), a growing partnership of over 30 landscape companies across the United States, providing financial and training resources, as well as vast buying power with landscape vendors for equipment, uniforms, and fertilizer, benefiting both staff and clients. Additional benefits under the Mariani umbrella include financial strength, especially in times of natural disasters, sharing of staff from other locations for seasonal needs, and access to the ideas and solutions of many different partners. About 25% of the company’s 300+ employees have been with the company since its inception, earning respect and promotions as they gain tenure. Employee benefits include competitive pay, education reimbursement, health and dental insurance, a matching 401(k), and paid time off (PTO). The
combination of BLUE’s partners and their professional skills provides unparalleled
services for their clients’ total outdoor environments.

He adopts a low-key approach, earning clients’ trust and employing methodical solutions to resolve their concerns. A hands-on leader, he enjoys guiding the vision and direction of every landscape project, ensuring that the materials selected will align and thrive in their location. Tim holds a degree in turfgrass management, is a certified pest control operator, and has multiple landscape certifications. “Our focus on integrity and reliability has enabled us to reshape industry standards,” says Tiim. “Our growth is the result of fostering enduring relationships and a steadfast adherence to delivering on promises. Our goal is to provide white-glove-service for our clients when it comes to outdoor living areas and to create spaces to make our clients love being outside and invite friends to share in their special environment.” Lawrence Perillo, Founder – A genuine boots-on-the-ground leader and respected expert in operations and installation, Lawrence focuses on building client and employee relationships and trust through every phase of service. With four decades of landscape experience, he is a Certified Arborist, Horticultural Professional, and Pest Control Operator, having delivered nearly three decades of guidance to the SW Florida landscaping scene. Lawrence adds, “The circle for success with landscape begins with great design and continues with proper installation, resulting in an investment protected by a comprehensive maintenance program. At BLUE, we do not consider the circle closed or completed; we consider it continuous. Earning repeat business – while simultaneously creating satisfied customers – is our ultimate goal. All the services we provide come together like pieces of a puzzle, each part creating an experience that leads the journey to a customer’s smile.” Francis (Frank) Kitchener Jr., Founder – Frank was the second partner to join BLUE after it was founded by Tim Felts in 2013. His expertise lies in landscape design and maintenance, as well as diagnosing plant problems, which often involves determining nutrient deficiencies in palms and ornamental plants. Frank prescribes the proper fertilizers and chemicals to maintain healthy turf and plants on clients’ properties. With over four decades of experience as a landscape professional, he holds a degree in Ornamental Horticulture and Environmental Design. He is certified as a Pest Control Operator, Arborist, and Horticultural Professional. Says Frank, “Many clients from colder climates are not familiar with our Florida flora, fauna, or soil conditions. We conduct frequent site visits to provide personalized advice on what works best, making recommendations tailored to each property. We are a high-level Concierge landscape company, providing services that exceed basic landscape maintenance and formulating customized care plans tailored to each client’s needs.” John McFadden, Founder – Originally from Dublin, Ireland, John’s 40-year career spanning golf estates and large-scale landscaping projects has positioned him to be uniquely qualified to direct BLUE’s hardscape and synthetic turf projects. Having built complete golf courses, John has provided insight and expertise for scores of prestigious local properties. He has implemented designs for hundreds of projects, ranging from schools and play areas at day-care centers to soccer fields and high-end residential clients requiring synthetic turf. John collaborates with company partners to determine the best horizontal hard surfaces for each client’s specific needs. This includes pavers, driveways, pool decks, and amenity areas, as well as exterior lighting and fencing. “We are frequently requested to update the design of high-rise amenity decks, from the second floor to the 27th floor, adding synthetic turf for decorative decks where they are unable to maintain real grass,” John says.
