Copperleaf Golf Club Earns Aurora Awards for Clubhouse Design

Estero, FL – September 2025 / NewsmakerAlert: Josh Petrosky, General Manager/COO of Copperleaf Golf Club in Estero, Florida, has proudly announced that his community’s dramatic $20 million clubhouse revitalization was recently honored with two prestigious Aurora Awards.

Judges for the 2025 competition honored Wegman Design Group’s designs for Copperleaf’s 28,000-square-foot dining and entertainment complex with Silver Awards in the Best Commercial Project and Best Rehabilitation Project. Presented annually by the Florida Home Builders Association (FHBA), the highly respected Aurora Awards recognize excellence in design and construction across the Southeast U.S. and Caribbean. Loren Wegman of Wegman Design Group was responsible for the spectacular interiors of the entire clubhouse and its custom lighting.

“Copperleaf has always been admired for its golf course,” said Petrosky, “but after the total renovation of our 23-year-old clubhouse and pool complex, we now have totally new furnishings for our first-class dining and entertainment options for club and associate members.”

In addition to significant expansion of the poolside deck and dining venue, The Leaf (main dining room) overlooks the 9th hole and features a state-of-the-art kitchen with an expanded menu and bar offerings. Greenside provides the setting for casual indoor/outdoor dining overlooking the 18th hole, with 10 TVs for sports enthusiasts. Unique to other area clubhouses, social spaces in the clubhouse can be adjusted with operable partitioning features to suit all types and sizes of events. Building exteriors include hurricane-rated glazing and the added protection of operable hurricane shutters.

In response to members’ requests for additional covered and protected outdoor seating areas, Ospreys poolside cafe features a 22-seat oval-shaped bar with multiple TVs overlooking the golf course and lakes. The venue has become a favorite casual dining venue. Operable screens and shutters close in patrons at outdoor dining and bar areas to avoid outside elements.
