Tuesday, December 14, Southland
Casino Racing, owned and operated by Delaware
North, donated 150 holiday food boxes with turkey/ham certificates
to families in the City of West Memphis. The City of West Memphis also
gave away free sanitizer and reusable face masks to the residents. West
Memphis Fire and Police departments were also on hand to assist in handing
out the boxes.
These
residents were selected by the City of West Memphis and an invitation was
sent to them in the mail. They were required to bring their invitation
ticket to pick up their food boxes and certificates. Selected residents
picked up their certificates through a drive by process at the West Memphis
Eugene Woods Civic Center, 212 Polk Avenue, West Memphis, Ark.
Southland
purchased $5,000 worth of food from the Mid-South
Food Bank of Memphis, TN and provided 150 $15 turkey/ham certificates
totaling $7,250 in donations. Southland Casino President and General Manager,
David Wolf
said, “Giving to others is what the holidays are about and Southland Casino
is happy to seize every opportunity to help its community.”
West
Memphis Mayor Marco McClendon stated, “We are pleased to partner with Southland
Casino Racing to bring holiday cheer to some deserving families in West
Memphis. Enjoy your holiday season, we wish everyone a safe and happy new
year.”
