Fish Camp, CA – May 2014 / Newsmaker Alert / When winter cabin fever transitions into springtime wanderlust, Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite welcomes the season with fresh packages built to push guests to get active, get adventurous and get to exploring the beauty of the Yosemite Sierra region.
Yosemite Grant Act
In June 2014, the Yosemite Grant Act, which officially established Yosemite Valley and Mariposa Grove as protected national land, will ring in its 150th anniversary. But this spring, Tenaya is starting the party early with the new Yosemite 150th Anniversary Special Offer. When guests book a one-night stay at Tenaya through July 1, they will also receive breakfast for two, a free seven-day Yosemite National Park pass and a copy of Inspiring Generations: 150 Years, 150 Stories in Yosemite; starting at $395. Along with celebratory deals, Tenaya’s surrounding community will be hosting cultural, art, historical events and more leading up to the event.

In addition to Yosemite’s milestone, springtime at Tenaya brings forth a fresh batch of special lodging offers to appeal to everyone from guests seeking the ultimate in relaxation to those looking for some wet and wild thrills. Available through September 15, the Renew & Nourish Spa Package features overnight accommodations in a Deluxe room, a 60-minute Brown Sugar Scrub Exfoliating Treatment, a foot or hand paraffin treatment and a special gift from Tenaya’s Ascent Spa; starting at $475. The Spa 120 Special delivers a customized Ascent experience starting at just $435 per night. In addition to a two-night stay and 10% off onsite dining, Spa 120 guests can pick 120 minutes of treatments from anything on the Ascent treatment menu, including signature massages, facials and body treatments.

For adrenaline enthusiasts, the all-new Yosemite Zipline Adventure Package and Yosemite Guided Hiking Package will fulfill the thrill. The zipline package includes a one-night stay and a two-hour zipline tour for two with Yosemite Ziplines starting at $525. Whether well off the beaten path or following the trail, the Yosemite Guided Hiking Package allows guests a totally customized hiking excursion for one to four people with an expert from Yosemite Hiking Guides. The package also features overnight accommodations for two and two boxed lunches; starting at $765. Back by popular demand are the Yosemite Fly Fishing Package and High Sierra Mountain Biking Package. Experienced and novice fishers alike will love the fly fishing package; which offers a two-night stay in a Deluxe room, lunch for two, gear rentals for two and a private all-day fishing trip for two with Sierra Fly Fishers; starting at $555. Mountain bikers can hit the 36 miles of trails steps outside Tenaya’s front doors – an activity you can’t experience in the park – with the mountain biking package; which includes overnight lodging, an “locals-only” trails map and all-day bike rentals and lunch for two; starting at $445.

Guests can say hello to summer at the Memorial Day Poolside BBQs on May 25 and 26. The BBQs will include a delicious menu of classic starters like potato salad and macaroni salad, main dishes like corn on the cob and tri-tip and desserts like pie and brownies as well as live entertainment. But the BBQ doesn’t start and stop on Memorial Day weekend –Tenaya’s beloved Old West Summerdale BBQ is back through August on select Tuesdays through Saturdays. Featuring live entertainment, a campfire, s’mores and plenty of BBQ; the Summerdale BBQ is a family-friendly way to bring back the days of yesteryear. Call Tenaya’s Concierge at 559-692-8913 for reservations.

And, it’s never too early to plan for summer experiences, especially those that only come once a year. Available exclusively on August 11 through 13, the Perseid Meteor Shower Package takes astronomy lovers to the perfect vantage point for this annual phenomenon. In addition to two nights’ lodging, participants will have the opportunity to meet with expert astronomers for stargazing sessions through Tenaya’s state-of-the-art telescope and travel to Yosemite National Park’s beautiful Glacier Point to watch the showers with night sky guides. Once there, guests will be able to enjoy snacks and hot beverages, curl up with a keepsake fleece blanket and celebrate the sky’s beauty with a night sky map and glow sticks. Rates for the Perseid Meteor Shower Package begin at $425 per night.
