Hospitality Services, and award-winning Chef Allen Susser will introduce
the first kosher meal offerings at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International
Airport (FLL) beginning Sept. 24.
The new pre-packaged food consisting of kosher turkey and tuna salad sandwiches, Mediterranean and Caesar salads and a variety of gourmet muffins, prepared by Kosher Central Market of Hollywood, Fla. under supervision of the Orthodox Rabbinic Board of Broward and Palm Beach Counties, will be available at Chef Allen’s 2 Go restaurant located in Terminal 3, Concourse F. The products, individually wrapped and sealed with designated kosher labeling, were previewed to media and Broward County Aviation Department officials during the Sept. 12 grand opening celebration of Delaware North’s and Lauderdale F&B Partners’ food court featuring Jamba Juice, Pei Wei Asian Diner and Steak ‘n Shake Signature. “I’ve been in the airport for quite a while with Chef Allen’s 2 Go making sandwiches and salads that really focus on the quality and everyday freshness of the ingredients and putting them together,” said Susser. “Kosher Central Market knows the neighborhood and the standard of quality we were seeking. There’s a large population that’s traveling that does want kosher, and there are others who it will appeal to such as those who observe Hallal or vegetarians.” The restaurant and food additions are part of an airport-wide renovation and expansion and are a direct response to traffic growth. “With
the introduction of Chef Allen’s 2 Go kosher offerings in the upcoming
weeks, our successful Food Network Kitchen that we opened in 2012, and
our newest food court featuring Pei Wei, Steak ‘n Shake Signature, and
Jamba Juice, we are continuously focused on offering a wide variety of
options to travelers,” said Matt King, president of Delaware North Companies
Travel Hospitality Services.
