organization is committed to driving economic impact through tourism, and
our dedicated sales team works year-round to bring major meetings and events
like these to Long Island,” said Discover Long Island Interim CEO, Mitch
Pally. “We are proud to host these dedicated individuals who serve
communities across the state and look forward to showcasing Suffolk County
Long Island’s hospitality, natural beauty, and distinctive appeal to the
FASNY members and guests in attendance.”
![]() The host location was secured largely thanks to Discover Long Island’s proactive outreach. The organization’s sales team attended the 2024 event in Niagara Falls to pitch Long Island as the next backdrop for this celebration of our state heroes, delivering a compelling destination presentation and engaging directly with FASNY leadership and attendees. The decision was also influenced by current FASNY President Eugene J. Perry Jr., a Suffolk County local, who is serving a two-year term. “We are ecstatic for the return of the FASNY Convention to the Long Island region,” said FASNY President and Patchogue native, Eugene Perry. “We are proud to welcome firefighters and guests from across New York State back to our vibrant and historic convention.” President Perry has been with the Patchogue Fire Department for 46 years. “This year’s convention promises to be a meaningful celebration of service, tradition, and unity. We look forward to a memorable and successful event and weekend that honors firefighting and inspires the future of volunteer firefighting,” said Perry. Attendance is expected to reach approximately 500 participants, resulting in an estimated 1,500 room nights across the host hotel, Hyatt Regency Hauppauge and the overflow hotel, Jake’s 58 Hotel & Casino. “Welcoming such a respected organization and its dedicated members is a privilege,” said Hyatt Regency Long Island General Manager, Michael Scandariato. “We are honored to be selected as the host hotel for the convention and look forward to showcasing the exceptional hospitality and amenities that our hotel and local communities have to offer.” This event strengthens Suffolk County Long Island’s position as a premier group travel destination and builds meaningful relationships with state-level associations and civic leaders, while providing measurable economic benefit to local businesses through hotel bookings, dining, retail, and attractions.
