Estero County Club Hosts Prestigious Society of Seniors Tournament
|
Estero, FL – May 2023 / Newsmaker Alert: Estero Country Club, the premier member-owned private country club in Estero, Florida – home to the Gordon Lewis-designed championship golf course and an Audubon Certified Sanctuary – is proud to have recently hosted its first Society of Seniors (SOS) tournament during their Florida swing, unique because of the prestigious golfing resume of the players.

With its limited membership and stringent qualifications, the Society of Seniors (SocietyOfSeniors.com) is widely recognized as the gold standard of senior amateur golf. The organization itself hosts only ten national tournaments, open exclusively to qualifying members. There are only 900 SOS members nationwide, with members having played in 49 national championships, 14 Walker Cup representatives, and 60 Masters’ tournaments.

Added Andrew Plesz, Estero Country Club PGA Head Professional, “Our Club was honored to be selected to host the Ed Tutwiler Four-Ball, as it honors one of the most underrated amateur golfers this game has ever seen. Tutwiler competed on several Walker Cup teams and qualified for the Masters’ three times. He also won 11 West Virginia State Amateurs.”
