Philadelphia, PA – February 2014 / Newsmaker Alert / Brock Jones, Vice President of Booking for Global Spectrum, has been nominated by the Academy of Country Music for an award during the eighth annual ACM Honors event on Tuesday, September 9, in Nashville, TN. Jones has been nominated as “Talent Buyer of the Year,” for his outstanding work at filling the more than 120 Global Spectrum-managed venueswith top-notch live entertainment.

Global Spectrum's Brock Jones Nominated for Academy of Country Music Award for ''Talent Buyer of the Year''Jones is one of five nominees which also include Billy Brill from Billy Alan Productions; Nicole More of Neste Event Marketing; Fran Romeo of the Romeo Entertainment Group; and R.J. Romeo, also of the Romeo Entertainment Group.

Jones also lends his expertise to Paciolan and Ovations Food Services to assist their clients in attracting live touring acts. Global Spectrum, Paciolan and Ovations Food Services are subsidiaries of the Philadelphia-based sports and entertainment firm Comcast-Spectacor.

Jones was named Vice President of Booking for the Philadelphia-based company in 2012 after six years at the Bridgestone Arena (Nashville, TN) where he was responsible for acquiring, scheduling and overseeing all events at Bridgestone Arena. Under Jones’ watch, the arena significantly increased the number of major concert bookings at the 15-year-old, 20,000-capacity arena, and improved Nashville’s reputation as a market that can sell concert and event tickets to a wide range of attractions.

Jones began his career booking acts throughout the Western United States as an independent promoter (Cutthroat Productions in Salt Lake City) before becoming involved in venue management. His extensive career in facility management also includes Director of Events, Department of Cultural Facilities, Arts and Entertainment in Norfolk, Va. (2001-2005); Director of the Colonial Theatre for the Performing Arts in Idaho Falls, Idaho, (1998-2000); and Director of the ASISU Presents at Idaho State University in Pocatello, ID, (1988-89).

In addition, he serves on the Advisory Board for the Nashville Chapter of Musician’s On Call, the Board of Director’s for the T.J. Martell Foundation, is an active Alumni of Leadership Music, is a member of The Academy of Country Music, The Country Music Association and The Recording Academy. Jones earned a BA degree from Idaho StateUniversity and attended Law School at The University of The Pacific.
