| Ocean Lakes Family Campground Receives Perfect Score In 2014 Good Sam RV Travel Guide and Campground Directory | Ocean Lakes Named “Top Rated Park” Ranking It in the Top 1% of Private Campgrounds in North America | The directory’s three number rating is based on amenities, cleanliness and environment. Ocean Lakes received a 10 out of 10 in all three areas, the star (*) indicates exceptionally clean restrooms. To evaluate campgrounds, directory representatives make personal visits to rate each private park on specific criteria. Points are earned when a campground meets specific criteria detailed in the list. The park is evaluated on things like the level of development of the facility, the cleanliness and physical characteristics of restrooms and showers, and the visual appearance, setting and site layout. The criteria can be very detailed, down to the surface requirements of restrooms and the material used for roads, to security features. “We are so excited to be recognized as a 10/10*/10 park in such a prestigious directory,” said Barb Krumm, Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Ocean Lakes Family Campground. “It can be more difficult for an older campground to meet the criteria because of the required materials and construction. To earn a perfect score at 43 years old shows Ocean Lakes’ continued dedication to investing in its amenities and facilities. Our guests expect and deserve the very best, and we intend to continue to deliver on the high standards that they have set for us – and that we have set for ourselves.” In the past few years, Ocean Lakes has been recognized as one of the top 10 campgrounds in the country; named the National “Park of the Year” five times, most recently in 2011-12 by the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC); and has received “A” ratings based on guest reviews from a major industry review site. In addition, TripAdvisor awarded Ocean Lakes its “Certificate of Excellence” for 2013 which is based on travelers’ reviews and “honors select accommodations, attractions, and restaurants that consistently demonstrate a commitment to hospitality excellence.” Ocean Lakes has also been commended as an industry leader for its green efforts. In 2006, Ocean Lakes received the prestigious South Carolina Governor’s Cup for making a significant economic impact on South Carolina.
