Jason Gewirtz Named Editor of SportsTravel Magazine

Angeles, CA – May 2014 / Newsmaker Alert / Jason Gewirtz has been promoted
to editor of SportsTravel.
Gewirtz had served as managing editor since joining the magazine in 2008.
In his new role, he will be responsible for the editorial content in SportsTravel
and will take on additional responsibilities in organizing the educational
components of the magazine’s live events, including the TEAMS Conference
& Expo.
“Since he joined our company nearly six years ago, Jason has helped refine and expand the editorial content in SportsTravel and has become a respected authority on the sports-event industry,” said Timothy Schneider, publisher of SportsTravel. “In an era when content is king, I can think of no one better suited to serve as editor than Jason,” said Schneider. “He has earned this promotion through hard work and solid achievement.” “I am grateful for the opportunity to expand my role with the magazine and the readers we serve,” said Gewirtz. “Sports have always been a big part of my life and I am looking forward to strengthening our role as the leaders in providing content to the sports-event industry.” Gewirtz has a background in daily newspaper journalism and previously worked at the Press-Telegram in Long Beach, California, where he was executive city editor from 2006–2008 and the paper’s city hall reporter from 2000–2006. He worked from 1995–2000 as a reporter at newspapers in Boulder and Broomfield, Colorado.
