University Club Of Kentucky Honored As One Of The Nation's Top College Courses
|
Lexington, KY – April 2025 / NewsmakerAlert: The University Club of Kentucky, a 36-hole facility in Lexington, has been recognized as one of GolfPass’ Top 20 College Golf Courses in their Golfers’ Choice 2025 awards. The Club’s Arthur Hills Golf-designed Big Blue Course is listed as the 17th best college golf course in the nation in GolfPass’ annual ranking that is driven by reviews and ratings by golfers. The University Club of Kentucky is the official home of the University of Kentucky's men's and women's golf teams.

More than 1,900 reviews by everyday golfers were used to determine the annual Golfers' Choice rankings with GolfPass’ Ratings Index logic to weigh recent reviews and course subcategory averages. The recognition of Big Blue highlights the course’s exceptional design, outstanding conditioning and value.

“Superintendent Robert Rice and General Manager Phoenix Ramsey and their staff care deeply about this place and have done an outstanding job bringing our home back to one of the top courses in Lexington,” said University of Kentucky Men’s Golf Coach Gator Todd. “We couldn’t be more thrilled about the direction everything is headed here at UClub.”

“Great layout. We were traveling through from Georgia to Illinois. We stopped in Kentucky to play golf & we were very pleased with our choice of your beautiful course! Keep up the good work,” said one GolfPass Reviewer about the Big Blue Course.

Open since 1992, Big Blue is an 18-hole, par-72 championship layout that stretches to 7,013 yards and rolls across hundreds of acres of beautiful Kentucky countryside. Big Blue features bent grass from tee to green. The Club’s Wildcat Course plays to 6,680 yards and a par of 71. And, while shorter in length than Big Blue, Wildcat features more of a parkland setting that rolls through trees and along creeks and ponds.

The Club’s 10,000-square-foot clubhouse is filled with University of Kentucky memorabilia and contains private meeting rooms that host a variety of events and meetings. A well-appointed golf shop offers that latest in golf equipment and apparel, while the Bar & Grille is open for golfers and non-golfers alike to enjoy a relaxing meal with golf course views.
