in 1927, Woodholme Country Club features a Herbert Strong-designed 18-hole
golf course that was renovated by golf course architect Ed Ault in the
mid-1960s and again in the mid-70s. The course plays to a unique par of
73 and ranges from 5,503 to 7,226 yards with holes meandering over natural
terrain with minimal earth movement. The course has hosted a number of
high-profile events, including the Maryland State Amateur Championship,
the Maryland Senior Open Championship, USGA Women’s Open qualifying, the
USGA Mid-Amateur, as well as three USGA Amateur qualifiers.
“As Woodholme approached its 100th anniversary, the Board felt strongly that, like many other golf clubs, Woodholme could benefit from having an experienced management partner on its team,” said Woodholme Country Club Board President Arthur Adler. “As Troon is by far the best of class in golf club management, the Board’s decision was an easy one. The future of Woodholme looks very bright with Troon guiding our next century of membership.” In addition to golf, Woodholme Country Club members also enjoy a timeless 50,000 square-foot clubhouse that boasts classical elegance and modern conveniences with casual dining in The Grille and The Café. Amenities include 8 Har-Tru tennis courts, 12 new pickleball courts, and a resort-style pool with Olympic-style lanes. The Woodholme campus also includes satellite buildings for golf, tennis and quick-service dining. “We are excited to partner with the incredible membership of Woodholme Country Club,” said Troon Vice President of Operations Archie Cart, PGA. “We look forward to further elevating the member experience at Woodholme and building upon a century of excellence.” For more information on Woodholme Country Club, visit www.Woodholme.org.
