Maui,
HI – October 2025 / NewsmakerAlert:
With the recent announcement by
the PGA TOUR that The Sentry golf tournament will not be played in Maui
in January 2026 many are inaccurately assuming that all Maui communities
and golf courses are in similar situations. The Ka’anapali
Golf Courses – also located on West Maui – are open and welcoming guests,
all while still following water restrictions and allocations determined
by the state and county.
“Since
the PGA TOUR’s announcement, it’s important for potential visitors to know
that Maui’s other golf courses, hotels and recreational areas are open
to everyone for fall and winter vacations,” said Ka’anapali
Golf Courses General Manager Karl Reul.
Located
along Maui’s famed Ka’anapali Coast, Ka’anapali’s Golf Courses two 18-hole
layouts, Royal and Kai, offer stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and West
Maui Mountains. Royal Ka’anapali is six weeks post-aeration and is in pristine
condition as the course prepares to host a high-profile collegiate tournament
this October.

hospitality, and remains an integral part of what makes Maui a premier
golf destination. We encourage you to book your golf travel with confidence
and look forward to welcoming you to the fairways.”
Ka’anapali
is a three-mile slice of paradise “Where the World Comes to Play” with
13 unique places to stay and 45 dining options. This fall, Ka’anapali will
host the Hawai’i Food & Wine Festival October 24 – 26, the Ka’anapali
Classic by OUTRIGGER, one of America’s marquee men’s collegiate tournaments
October 26 – 29, and the Southwest Maui Invitational (formally Maui Jim
Invitational) golf tournament on November 23rd.
“The
magic of Ka’anapali lies in the incredible combination of natural beauty
and world-class amenities,” said Shelley
Kekuna, Executive Director of the Ka’anapali Beach Resort Association.”
Our championship golf courses, which offer stunning views of the Pacific
and year-round events and programming, are a major part of what makes this
destination so special and contribute to Ka’anapali’s status as the place
“where the world comes to play”. The ability for visitors to step off the
beach and onto a world-class fairway is truly unique, and it’s this unparalleled
experience that keeps us proudly ranked among the best beaches in America
year after year.”

About
Ka’anapali Golf Courses
Built
on 300 acres of land once home to Hawaiian royalty, Ka’anapali
Golf Courses present golfers with pristine conditions and stunning
views of the Pacific Ocean and West Maui Mountains. Opened in 1962 and
designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., the par-71, 6,700-yard Royal Ka’anapali
Course features wide fairways and undulating greens which make it both
distinctive and demanding. The tournament-tested layout played host to
the Champions Tour Ka’anapali Classic for 14 years, Shell’s Wonderful World
of Golf, the Canada Cup and LPGA Kemper Open, welcoming Jack Nicklaus,
Arnold Palmer, Greg Norman, Fred Couples, Jan Stephenson, Betsy King and
other legends. Complementing the Royal Ka’anapali Course is the modernized
Ka’anapali Kai Course, which hosted Golf Channel’s “Big Break Ka’anapali”
in 2008. Extensively renovated in 2005, the 6,400-yard, par-70 layout boasts
an array of strategically placed bunkers, contoured fairways and resurfaced
greens. For more information and engagement: www.KaanapaliGolfCourses.com
