Whiteface Club and Resort Ready to Begin 2025 Season with New Leadership, Championship Golf, 2 World Class Restaurants, Weddings, Tennis, More
|
Lake Placid, NY – May 2025 / NewsmakerAlert: When the Whiteface Club and Resort in Lake Placid opens for the season on May 9, it will do so with new leadership. Incoming CEO Tracey Brooks has come on board to replace retiring CEO Mark Sperling.

The former head of the luxury property served in that capacity for over two decades. Sperling’s final day was April 30. The secession plan saw the two working together for over a year prior to Brooks assuming the helm on May 1.

“We are blessed to have a beautiful property and I’m looking forward to sharing it with our homeowners, club members, folks from the region, and new and returning visitors,” said Brooks. “Our staff has been working diligently this spring to prepare all of our amenities. We’re ready for the unveiling on May 9.”

“Mark was with us from the beginning when we took over the property in 2005,” said managing partner Ed Weibrecht, also the owner of the AAA Four Diamond Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa. Whiteface Club and Mirror Lake Inn are sister properties, combining to offer players an upscale stay and play opportunity.

“In that time, Mark took on a massive project that involved the entire property. Between golf, real estate, tennis, dining, weddings, and the lakefront assets, he developed the Whiteface Club into a premier Adirondack luxury resort. We are forever indebted to Mark for his commitment and achievements, and wish him and wife Pam a restful retirement. Now, we’re anticipating a continuation of that success with Tracey and will give her all the support she needs to add to the Whiteface Club’s reputation.”

Thanks to the work that was done in the fall, the Whiteface Club and Resort Golf Course has emerged from the snow and ice of winter in extraordinary condition and will welcome players for the 2025 season starting May 9.

PGA Club Professional Perry Babcock will officially kick off the season at 10 AM with the ceremonial opening shot from the first tee. He will be joined by Brooks and Golf Course Superintendent Mike Sabbatini.

Meanwhile, when golfers return to this spectacular property, they will now have use of Chrono-Golf by Lightspeed. This will enable users to make tee-times, tennis court and dinner reservations – anytime day or night - as well as view their accounts from the ease of a smart phone or computer.

Tee times can still be made by calling the pro shop at 518-523-PUTT during normal hours. Players may walk or ride anytime.

In addition to golf, activity on the club’s Har-Tru tennis courts is set to begin over Memorial Day weekend.

Both the Moose Lodge Boathouse and Café on the Green restaurants will begin servicing diners on May 9. Café on the Green behind the first tee is under the leadership of Head Cook Chuck Sulick. Also, the Moose Lodge Boathouse along the shore of Lake Placid lake, will find a culinary team headed by Alex Hudson, Chef de Cuisine. Both offer indoor and outdoor settings. Moose Lodge is ready to debut its reimagined bar configuration that will enhance the overall experience.
